STC's Secretariat Holds Periodic Meeting and Discusses Political Landscape Report


The General Secretariat of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Wednesday in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the STC's Presidium and deputy secretary general.

At the start of the meeting, the attendees stood up a mimute in tribute to recite Al-Fatiha for the soul of the heroic martyr, Commander Abdul-Latif Al-Sayyed, and his comrades, who were martyred in the battle of confronting terrorist organizations in Omran Valley, in Abyan Governorate, praying to Allah the Almighty to make their abode in His paradise with the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous, and to grant a speedy recovery to the wounded.

During the meeting, the political scene report submitted by the political department was discussed, which included the most prominent developments and political issues in the southern arena during the past two weeks, particularly the situation in Abyan governorate and the launch of the counter-terrorism military campaign "Swords of Haws".

The meeting dealt with a range of developments taking place in the governorates of the South, as the Secretariat stressed in this context the importance of the government fulfilling its duty in alleviating the suffering of citizens from poor services and skyrocketing prices of food stuff and petroleum-based products, underscoring the importance of rehabilitating and operating the Aden Refinery because of its great role in relieving the economic and service situation, providing required petroleum-based products, contributing to stabilizing the exchange rate of the local currency, and supporting the state treasury in hard currency to purchase and provide the basic needs of citizens.

The meeting also touched on a report on the achievements of the activities of the departments of the Secretariat during the past week, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting after taking into account the raised remarks.
