Major General Al-Bahsani Reviews Activities of Local Authorities in Governorates of Aden, Al-Dhalea, Lahj, and Abyan

Major General Faraj Salmeen Al-Bahsani, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), praised the tireless efforts exerted by the local authorities in the liberated governorates to improve the level of service and economic conditions, despite the difficult circumstances that the country is going through as a result of the war waged by the Houthi militia.

The Vice-President of the STC, during his meeting today, Wednesday, in the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, Minister of State and Governor of the Capital, Aden, Mr. Ali Moqbel, Governors of Al-Dhalea, Mr. Ahmed Abdullah Al-Turki, governor of Lahj, and Mr. Abu Bakr Hussein, of Abyan, reiterated the STC's support for the local authorities in the liberated governorates, as they can assume their responsibilities and tasks to achieve stability in the services provided to citizens and improve their living conditions.

Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani pointed out the necessity to reconsider the implementation of public reforms in the economic and development aspects in the liberated governorates, and all efforts should be directed at addressing the imbalances and difficulties facing the local authorities in the governorates. Al-Bahsani urged the exchange of successful experiences implemented by local authorities in certain governorates and the circulation of them to all governorates to improve and upgrade the level of services.

Al-Bahsani listened to the governors of Aden, Al-Dhalea, Lahj, and Abyan give a briefing on the activity of the local authorities and their efforts to improve the level of services in light of the crisis the country is going through, touching on the situation of the electricity sector, the burden of providing fuel to the power plants on the authorities in the governorates, and the role relied on the government to do in this aspect. They also reviewed the situation in the sectors of water and sanitation, education, health, and security, what has been achieved, and the prominent difficulties in these sectors.

On the military and security aspects, the governors of Al-Dhalea and Lahj discussed the latest developments in the field situation on the various fronts in the governorates of Al-Dhalea and Lahj and the steadfastness of the heroes of the southern armed forces in confronting the Houthi terrorist escalation on the fronts, reviewing the conditions of the fighters and their high readiness to encounter any attacks.

Major General Al-Bahsani stressed the importance of paying attention to the military and security aspects and activating intelligence work to monitor and control any suspicious movements before implementing their terrorist plans aimed at destabilizing security and stability and disturbing public tranquillity.
