President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Deputy Head of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) met at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Thursday morning with H.E. Mr.Tae Yeol Kwak, Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Yemen.
The meeting reviewed the latest political and humanitarian situation in our country, endeavours to cease the war and establish peace, in addition to the rebellion of the terrorist Houthi militias, its intransigence, declining of peace initiatives and resort to military escalation.
At the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi lauded South Korea's support of the PLC, the power-sharing government, and major humanitarian aid, expressing his aspiration to strengthen bilateral relations between our country and the Republic of Korea in all fields.
The president called on the Korean government to expand the range of its investment in the capital, Aden, and the liberated governorates, noting the promising investment opportunities in our country, which would grant Korean friends high privileges in oil, gas, infrastructure rehabilitation, information and communications technology, and small and medium scale industries.
President Al-Zubaidi expressed his confidence in the ability of the Korean government to promote the training, qualifying, and building capacities of cadres of government institutions, as South Korea is a pioneer in this field.
For his part, Ambassador Kwak affirmed the position of his country's support of the internationally recognized legitimacy in our country, represented by the PLC and the power-sharing government, and backed regional and international efforts to extend the truce and launch a comprehensive political process to cease the war and bring peace to our country.
Likewise, the Korean ambassador affirmed his country's readiness to expand the scope of support provided to the government by increasing funding for humanitarian projects, doubling cultural exchange grants, and enhancing qualifying and training opportunities by adopting infrastructure rehabilitation projects for technical education and vocational training institutions that were destroyed by the war to prepare young people for the labour market.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Ambassador Lee, and Mr. Saleh Al-Quaiti, Special Adviser to President Al-Zubaidi, Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafe'y, deputy head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA), Mr. Mansour Zaid Haidra, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (PIC) in the power-sharing government, and Mr. Imad Mohammed, office director of the deputy head of the PLC.
