Al-Khobaji and Al-Kaf chair periodic meeting of the General Secretariat of Presidency of Transitional Council

Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council and Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, chaired on Monday, the periodic meeting of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council.

In his speech, Dr. Al-Khobaji congratulated the sons of our southern people and the Arab and Islamic nations on the holy month of Ramadan, asking the Almighty Allah, to return it to everyone, and the hopes of our southern people to restore their independent state on their entire national soil have been fulfilled.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Khobaji, whose first part was chaired by Eng. Adnan Al-Kaf, Member of the Presidency, Acting Secretary-General, Chairman of the Relief and Humanitarian Action Committee, and in the presence of Eng. Nizar Haitham, Member of the Council's Presidency, Chairman of the Executive Authority for the Transitional Council in the Capital Aden, gave a brief explanation about a number of developments political, economic, security, and service-related issues related to southern affairs, foremost of which is the electricity crisis, especially with the entry of the month of Ramadan, as well as the increase in new cases of the Coronavirus in the capital, Aden and other southern governorates.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen the role of the Transitional Council in standing by the people of our southern people in improving the living situation and providing all possible support to overcome the current stage that the south is going through.

The meeting reviewed the economic scene report submitted by the Economic Department, which reviewed the most prominent economic issues and developments in the southern arena and their implications for the citizens' condition and livelihood.

The report also presented an integrated image of the economic deterioration in the capital, Aden, and the southern governorates, in depriving the people of the south of their livelihoods represented in salaries, and the failure to provide basic services such as electricity and water, and the collapse of the local currency exchange rate and the corresponding rise in prices.

The meeting had reviewed the assignments related to the tasks of the General Secretariat, as well as the report on the activities of the departments during the past week, as well as reviewed and approved its previous minutes.
