The Cultural Department of the Southern Transitional Council organizes a Cultural Symposium

The Cultural Department of the Southern Transitional Council organized a cultural symposium entitled "Intellectual Extremism and Means of Fighting the Culture of Violence" at Musawat Library in Crater of Aden.

At the beginning of the event, the deputy head of the department, Amr Mohammed Aqeel, delivered a welcoming speech to the audience and lecturers. Then Dr. Yahya Al-Dabani presented his paper entitled "Khawarij in the Umayyad Age: Elements of Extremism in Their Thought and Poetry". He aimed at the historical comparison between extremism and violence, Dr. Shihab Al-Qadhi presented a paper entitled "Means of Countering the Culture of Violence," in which he reviewed many concepts related to violence, both material and moral, as examples of our contemporary reality and detailed some of the ways to confront the culture of violence.

The qualitative audience enriched the symposium with a series of valuable interventions and opinions that reinforce the social situation in the capital Aden and the south in general, defending the values ​​of peace and rejecting the phenomena of violence and extremism.

The seminar was attended by members of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Dr. Mona Bashraheel, head of the Cultural Department, and lawyer Niran Souki, head of the Department of Rights and Freedoms.
