Al-Sharafi Discusses Aspects of Cooperation and Coordination with CMI for Peace 

Mr. Anis Al-Sharafi, deputy director of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), virtually met on Wednesday with Ms. Julia Pickardt, project manager of the Middle East and North Africa at the CMI-Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation, and Mr. Marwan Ali, advisor to the CMI.

During the meeting, Mr. Al-Sharafi discussed aspects of cooperation and coordination between the foundation, the STC, and its auxiliary bodies.

While praising the positive role played by the foundation, Al-Sharafi welcomed any activities that contribute to strengthening and regaining the status and pioneering role of southern women, referring to all the de-righted and de-voiced practices and subjugation that took place in the South after the war of 1994.

In her turn, Ms. Pickardt affirmed the aspirations of the foundation to hold activities and workshops in the fields of supporting dialogue efforts, empowering women, enhancing their role in political and national action, and reaching decision-making positions.
