STC's Presidium Applauds Mass Rallies Celebrating 55th Anniversary of the Independence Day and Reaffirms Determination to Restore State of the South

The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting, on Wednesday, chaired by Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, the Secretary General of the Presidium of the STC, Minister of State, and Governor of the Capital, Aden.

The Presidium applauded the grand popular participation, and the great success of the festival celebration that took place in the city of Zanzibar, the downtown of Abyan Governorate, on the national occasion of the 55th anniversary of the glorious Independence Day on the 30th of November.

Similarly, the Presidium lauded the efforts of the local leadership executive body of the STC in Abyan for the well-organized mass celebration to the level it commensurates with this grand national occasion, reaffirming the determination of the people of the South and its political leadership to forcefully take the right of restoring their independent and sovereign State.

In a separate context, the Presidium listened to a report submitted by the Training and Qualifying Center (TQC) in the STC on its ongoing performance and training courses since establishment in May 2022 and praised the exerted efforts by the TQC to polish up the skills and develop capabilities of the STC's personnel and staff.

In another context, the Presidium reviewed a report submitted by the Decision-Making Support Center on the latest developments on the southern landscape, most notably the frequent Houthi' attacks on the southern armed forces picketed in frontlines, and targeting residential areas with different kinds of bombardment, resulting in martyrs and wounded innocent civilians men, women and children. Moreover, they have incongruously attracted the attention to perilousness of the UN special envoy's overlooking of the heinous crimes that been committed against safe innocent civilians by this terrorist militia.

The Presidium has called on the UN special envoy Mr.Hans Grundberg to give a credible explanation in his overall briefing to the United Nations Security Council on the criminal attacks, reiterating the aboslute necessity to urgently take active measures over such crimes instead of being rewardingly compatible with the Houthi militia, and not to put further pressure on the positively responding part, that leads to negatively enabling this militia to obtain additional concessions for its own interest.

To the end of the meeting, the Presidium discussed several topics and issues related to the STC's and took the appropriate measures.
