Al-Muharrami Discusses Recent Developments and Coordination Efforts with Consultation Council Head

Mr. Abdul Rahman Abu Zara'a Al-Muharrami, Deputy President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met today, Thursday, in the capital, Aden, with Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, Head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission (CRC) supporting the PLC, to discuss the latest developments in the country's political situation amid continued Houthi intransigence.

At the beginning of the meeting, they reiterated that the Houthi militias bear full responsibility for obstructing chances of peace, noting that Houthi intransigence is hindering international community efforts and leading to a worsening of the humanitarian situation in the country.

Mr. Al-Muharrami received a briefing from Al-Ghaithi regarding the work progress of the permanent committees within the CRC, particularly the meetings they held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, and the Egyptian capital, Cairo. Al-Ghaithi reaffirmed the Council's commitment to unifying efforts among all relevant parties to achieve political consensus and stability.

Al-Ghaithi expressed the CRC's endorsement and support for the security reform efforts led by Al-Muharrami to combat smuggling and enhance security and stability in the liberated governorates and highlighted the support of various forces, components, and political parties for the recovery efforts and economic reforms led by the head of the Sovereign Resources Committee and the Prime Minister, which aim to strengthen the national economy after years of deterioration.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continued joint work between the PLC and the CRC to achieve national consensus and support reforms aimed at enhancing political and economic stability in our country.
