STC Advisors Review Economic and Educational Situation in the South

The Administrative Body of the Council of Advisors (CoA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held in Tuesday its monthly meeting for August in the capital, Aden, on Tuesday, chaired by Mr. Ahmad al-Rabizi, Deputy Chairman of the CoA.  

In the beginning of the meeting, Al-Rabeizi provided a comprehensive briefing on the latest political, economic, and educational developments in the governorates of the South, praised the role led by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi to tangibly achieve financial and monetary reforms aimed at reaching comprehensive economic stability, which have contributed to lowering commodity prices and a decline in foreign currency exchange rates against the local currency.  

The administrative body discussed the required measures taken to control the prices of essential commodities in the South, stressing the need to intensify market monitoring and inspection campaigns on a continuous basis and apply laws to violators to emphasize the importance of consumer protection by strengthening the role of monitoring bodies in coordination with local authorities in the various governorates of the South.  

The meeting reviewed a detailed report from the Advisory Committee for Public, University, and Vocational Education Affairs on the state of education in the capital, Aden, and the South outlined key challenges and pathways to improve sector performance. In addition to reports from Economic, Security, and Defense committees that highlighted the recovery of the local currency through measures prioritizing economic and service-sector rehabilitation as a matter of paramount national security.  

The body concluded by reviewing and approving the minutes of its previous meeting, and further discussed a range of topics on its agenda and took appropriate decisions and recommendations.
