The Administrative Body of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its weekly meeting on Wednesday, headed by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly and Acting President of the STC.
In the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Issam Abdo Ali, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, Mr. Al-Kathiri reviewed a range of issues and the latest developments in the overall situation, primarily the collapsing economic, living, and service conditions, and emphasized the pressing need for the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) and the government to assume their responsibilities and find urgent solutions to prevent further decline.
The body has highlighted that the dossier of improving services is the STC's top priority, putting an end to the government failure, and curbing the ongoing service war waged by opposing actors against the people of the South and the STC with the ultimate goal to subjugate and dissuade them from achieving their goals of completing the building of the institutions of their state with its full sovereignty.
In its meeting, the body called on the people of the South to remain steadfast and united, rallying behind the STC and its political leadership, led by President Al-Zubaidi, stressing the importance of strengthening national cohesiveness in the face of current challenges and threats targeting the South, its people, and its military forces and security services, which stand as a formidable barrier against terrorist plots and schemes aimed at undermining the South's hard-won gains.
Furthermore, the body reviewed a report presented by the Economic and Development Committee on the local currency against hard currencies. The report outlined the underlying factors and root causes of the issue, as well as a range of potential solutions proposed by experts and specialists in the field to overcome this crisis.
The body concluded its meeting by discussing miscellaneous topics and issues in the South, as well as the oversight role of the Assembly's committees, assessed the committees' recent inspections of various facilities and the extent to which they have fulfilled their plans, and took the appropriate decisions in this regard.
