The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting today, Sunday, at its headquarters in the capital, Aden, headed by Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Haidara al-Shaqqi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Secretariat.
In the beginning of the meeting, the secretariat has applauded the grand success of the mass rallies that took place in Hadhramaut and Almahra governorates to mark the 61st anniversary of the Glorious 14th of October Revolution and praised the wide popular participation, which reflected a spirit of belonging and pride in the Southern identity.
The meeting discussed an organizational report concerning the performance of departments of the Secretariat and local leadership executive bodies (LLEBs) during the third half of the current year, 2024, with a focus on enhancing and developing administrative and field performance, as well as the level of implementation of activities and initiatives during the aforementioned period.
The meeting reviewed the latest developments in South, particularly the sharp devaluation of the local currency, expressing concern over inaction from the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) and the government and their failure to find effective solutions, which leads to aggravation of the economic crisis and exacerbated living conditions of citizens.
The meeting touched on the weekly activity report for all departments of the Secretariat and accomplishments in their various jurisdictions over the past week, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting.
