The President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), reiterated the support of the leadership of the PLC and the STC for all efforts aimed at ending the war in the country, bringing peace, and restoring security and stability to the entire region through constructive dialogue aimed at finding real solutions to pivotal issues of the conflict, foremost of which is the cause of the people of the south and the right to restore their independent and fully sovereign state.
It took place when President Al-Zubaidi, on Wednesday evening, met the Acting Ambassador of the State of Canada to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Gwyneth Kutz, and her accompanying delegation, where he discussed with her the latest developments of the ongoing political process to end the war in our country and the regional and international endeavours to launch a comprehensive political process that establishes sustainable peace in the entire region.
President Al-Zubaidi affirmed that the PLC has made many concessions to bring success to the efforts led by the UN special envoy in launching a comprehensive political process in Yemen that addresses all the pivotal issues, indicating that the cause of the people of the south will be present through a special framework within the negotiation team of the PLC.
In a separate context, the meeting discussed ways and mechanisms to boost the humanitarian aid provided by the Canadian government, where President Al-Zubaidi noted the importance of the role that the Canadian government can play in supporting and strengthening the roles of women and youth by conducting assistance in the field of training and qualifying to enable them to actively participate in rebuilding state institutions, as well as supporting the Canadian government to the power-sharing government in its efforts to deal with the influx of thousands of refugees from the Horn of Africa to our country.
For her part, the Acting Canadian Ambassador to Riyadh affirmed the position of her country's government in support of efforts to end the war and restore security and stability to Yemen, expressing the Canadian government's keenness to ramp up humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of our people as a result of the war.
