President Al-Zoubaidi Directs Expeditious Completion of All Maintenance of the Sea Way and Damage Caused by Cyclonic Storm “Tej”

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zoubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met today, Thursday, with Eng. Salem Al-Harizi, Minister of Public Works and Highways.

President Al-Zoubaidi was briefed by Minister Al-Harizi on the workflow in the Ministry, the projects that have been implemented, and the plans that the Ministry is working on to maintain and expand the main roads during the upcoming period.

In the meeting, President Al-Zoubaidi directed the Minister of Works to quickly complete the sea line rehabilitation project in the capital, Aden (King Salman Street), which is scheduled to begin work within the next two months with funding from the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program (SDRP).

President Al-Zubaidi also gave directives to the Minister of Works to quickly disburse the dues of the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges, which carried out U-turn road works to connect the areas whose roads were damaged due to the effects caused by Cyclonic Storm Tej in Almahra, Socotra, and parts of Hadramaut.

At the end of the meeting, the President stressed the need for the Ministry of Works to follow up on the projects being implemented in the governorates and to work with local authorities to determine priorities in each governorate.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Imad Mohammad, Office Director of the Vice President of the PLC.
