President Al-Zoubaidi Chairs Meeting of Military and Security Leaders in Abyan Governorate

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zoubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), chaired today,Tuesday, a meeting of military commanders and security officers in Abyan Governorate.

In the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by members of the STC's Presidium, Major General Kamal Hamshari, office head of the President of the STC, Mr. Al-Khader Al-Saeedi, head of the committee in charge with lifting illegal fee collection points of the governorate, and Major General Abu Bakr Hussein, Governor of the Governorate and Head of the Security Committee, the President highlighted the importance that Abyan Governorate has for its political and military presence and weightiness since it represents the flank of the South with its great political and unrelenting struggle throughout all the stages that the South went through.

In the meeting, which also included Major General Saleh Ali Hassan, Head of Joint Operations, Major General Mohsen Askar, Advisor to the President of the STC for Military Affairs, and Mr. Hassan Ghaithan, Head of the Local Leadership Executive Body (LLEB) of the STC in Abyan, President Al-Zoubaidi highly commended the great efforts that have been exerted by members of the military and security forces in Abyan Governorate in combating terrorist organizations, strengthening security and stability, and maintaining the public peace of citizens.

The President pointed out that the security and military campaigns carried out by the Southern Armed Forces to track down terrorist organizations in Abyan have received great attention at the level of the region and the world, and they also reflect the seriousness of our forces in combating this alien scourge in Abyan Governorate and the South, in addition to the positive impact it has had on the security situation in Abyan itself and its neighboring governorates.

President Al-Zoubaidi underscored the necessity of exerting a greater effort during the upcoming phase by everyone, strengthening the unity of command and military and security decision-making, raising the level of operational coordination, military control, and connection, and not tolerating any transgressions by anyone to preserve the gains that have been achieved due to the huge ultimate sacrifices by the blessed martyrs like the late hero commander Abdul-Latif Al-Sayyid.

The meeting then reviewed a range of military and security developments in Abyan Governorate, foremost of which are the directives of President Al-Zubaidi to prevent collecting illegal taxes on the international coastline and their negative impacts on citizens and those passing through the highway. In this regard, the meeting decided to immediately lift all military and security collection points, as well as approve a mechanism for monitoring the level of implementation and the measures that will be taken against violators.

To the end of the meeting, President Al-Zoubaidi listened to the attendees, who gave a number of opinions and ideas regarding strengthening the security aspect in Abyan Governorate, in addition to a number of suggestions on the mechanism for deploying brigades and units in military and security sites, and the appropriate measures were taken.
