The local leadership executive body (LLEB) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the capital, Aden, organized on Thursday a speech and artistic celebration on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of National Independence Day, November 30, with the participation of Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the STC, Chairman of the National Assembly, a number of members of the STC's Presidium, and Mr. Issam Abdo, acting head of LLEB of the capital, Aden.
The festival event, which was attended by the ministers of the STC in the government, a number of southern military and security commanders, political and social figures, and a large presence of southerners in the capital, Aden, began with reciting verses from the Holy Qur’an, then stood for a minute to read Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to achieve independence and freedom, and all the martyrs of the peaceful revolution and the martyrs of Palestine.
Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees, conveying to them the greetings and congratulations of President Aidarous Al-Zoubaidi, President of the STC and Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), on this glorious occasion.
Al-Kathiri asserted that the anniversary of independence is the day on which the entire South regained its freedom and independence, and it was only the result of decades of continued and uncompromising struggle to liberate the land and establish an independent state. Therefore, our people had what they wanted, as they were on such a day since colonialism set its feet on the ground and struggled until the colonizer left.
Al-Kathiri pointed out that our fathers and grandfathers who wrote with their blood heroic epics in the past have bequeathed to our people patience and valor, and here our people are today crowning all of this with the victories they are achieving on the ground for the sake of second independence after decades of sidelining and marginalization, highlighting that the STC is proceeding under the leadership of President Aidarous Al-Zoubaidi in achieving successes on the ground and leading the march of this people until the state of the South is declared fully sovereign.
The Acting President of the STC added that the aggravating suffering of our people as a result of the ill-planned and ill-intended policies surely satisfies none, and we reaffirm that the Council will definitely stand with the people and their freedom and dignity. There is no concession and no retreat from the ultimate goal, which is crystallized in the second independence and confronting all the hatched conspiracies against our just cause, which has become present in all forums. as the pivotal cause, and the STC and the Southern Armed Forces have become the trump cards, so preserving these achievements is a national duty.
The celebration included various artistic paragraphs that displayed southern culture and heritage. Moreover, local artistic groups performed musical pieces and traditional folk dances that reflected commemorations of the 56th November 30 anniversary and an expression of pride and belonging to the southern homeland, in addition to a paragraph for people of determination (with special needs) that embodies the meaning of freedom and liberation from the shackles of injustice and colonialism in every way of its forms and types.
The celebration included a number of pieces that expressed the solidarity of the people of the South with the Palestinian cause, and an expressive painting was shown along with a short film that told an expressive story about Palestine, in addition to a talk that told that story.
