In a meeting with Southern Leaders Participating in Riyadh Consultations…

President Al-Zubaidi: We are not looking to be in a position of authority; we have come to take the right of people of the south to Self-determination

The President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), the Supreme Commander of the Southern Forces, President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, affirmed that the leadership of the STC is keen to be present in the political arena to serve the cause of people of the South and fulfil their aspirations to restore the State.

 

President Al-Zubaidi added, during the meeting with the Southern leaders participating in Riyadh consultations, on Friday evening, at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh: "We were clear with everyone that we are not looking to be in a position of authority, and we were found to take the right of people of the South to achieve their aspirations and restore the independent State."

President Al-Zubaidi addressed the attendees, saying, "A great responsibility was put on our shoulders towards our people and its cause to bring their rights and aspirations to triumph, and you all have to assume your responsibilities with honesty and integrity as well as politics is a collective action, and today we have to be up to the level of the national responsibility that we have been shouldered."

 

President Al-Zubaidi pointed out that the participation of the STC in Riyadh consultations was positive, fruitful and strengthened the presence of the cause of people of the south in regional and international decision-making corridors.

The president added, "Our participation in Riyadh consultations was not only constructive but also formed a new turning point in the Southern political struggle, through which we were able to impose the cause of our people in the international negotiations by putting a special framework for this cause on table of the comprehensive solution."

The president continued by saying: "We have to realistically and without exaggeration look at what we have achieved so far. After we were completely absent, today we became part and parcel of the decision-making circle, as we have done our best to impose political and economic reforms to rescue our people who were economically and socially exhausted by corruption and mismanagement."

 

In his speech to the attendees, President Al-Zubaidi expressed his thanks and gratitude to the official brothers in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the States of the Arab Gulf (GCC), led by the official brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for the tremendous efforts they have made and are still making to end the conflict and bring peace to our country, praising the great success achieved by Riyadh consultations.

At the end of his speech, President Al-Zubaidi called on the leaders of the STC to return to the capital, Aden, to work with high attitudes, stressing the need to exploit opportunities to build the State institutions and boost the living of our people in the south.
