The Southern Transitional Council (STC) recorded a prominent presence in the opening sessions of the Riyadh consultations, which started on Wednesday morning, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, under the patronages of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC).
The delegation of STC included Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, Secretary-General of the Presidency of STC, Governor of the capital, Aden, and Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, Head of the Negotiations Unit of STC, and Mr. Fadl Al-Jaadi, Deputy Secretary-General, in addition to a number of the members of the Presidency of STC, and Heads of Departments of the General Secretariat, and Committees of the National Assembly, and the executive bodies of STC local leadership in the governorates.
During attending the first consultation sessions, President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi met a number of ambassadors of brotherly and friendly countries, and a number of officials in the GCC, and southern and Yemeni leaders who participated in the consultations.
In their interventions at the first consultation sessions, the representatives of the Southern Transitional Council stressed the importance of equal representation of the South in the consultation tracks in accordance with the requirements of the Riyadh Agreement, and in line with the realities imposed by the control and active presence on the ground, stressing that talking about any previous references is useless today in light of the changes that have occurred on the ground since the outbreak of the war, and adhering to any preconditions will only lead to failure.
In their interventions, the representatives of the Southern Transitional Council called on the brothers in the GCC countries to work on developing effective visions for a political solution to end the conflict in the region, taking into account the specificity of the situation in the South and in a way that meets the aspirations of its people.
