The President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, participated in the second symposium of the British Parliament organized by All Parties Parliamentary Group for Yemen in cooperation with Adalah (Justice) foundation and in presence of a number of British parliamentarians.
President Al-Zubaidi delivered a speech in which he said that the Yemeni unity has failed and cannot return to the status before 2014, stressing the importance of granting the people of the south the right of self-determination and build the modern civil society.
President Al-Zubaidi noted that the current crisis in Yemen can be solved through steps include ending the war, returning immediately to the table of negotiation, ensuring that the political process is broad and comprehensive from the beginning, and starting preparations for the post-transition phase by removing the traces of war, and launching comprehensive reconstruction program led by our international partners.
In his speech, President Al-Zubaidi presented the roots of the southern issue and the suffering of southern people of crimes, destruction, killing, and displacement by Sana'a regime in the north since the invasion of the south in 1994, and the launch of the southern movement to the war of the second invasion of the South in 2015.
A number of interventions were attended by representatives of the two largest parties in Britain, led by Mr. Keith Faz of the Conservative Workers' Party and Parliamentarian Andrew Mitchell and a group of those interested in the Yemeni cause.
