President Al-Zubaidi presides the first period of the National Assembly second session in Mukalla.

President of the Southern Transitional Council, Maj. Gen. Aidaroos Qasem Al-Zubaidi, chaired the second session of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, which started its first session on Saturday in the city of Mukalla in Hadramout province under the slogan " to The restoration of the homeland and instating the independent civil southern federal state ", with the participation of Hani Ben Brik, vice president of the Transitional council, and members of the Transitional council’s presidency.

At the opening, President Al-Zubaidi delivered a speech in which he expressed his pleasure to hold the second session of the National Assembly in the province of Hadramout, describing it as the land of peace, education, and the spirit of the economy.

 

Al-Zubaidi said: "you are holding the second round of the southern national assembly. We are all responsible for maintaining a suitable degree of representing the will of the southern people as we lived more critical moments when we established this legislative body that is a glory for every southern".

The President of the Transitional Council praised the successes of the National Assembly expressed by the systemic organizational work, which become visible on the performance of the members of the National Assembly in the previous stage."

He pointed out that the next stage should focus on performance, achievement, and consolidation of democratic and organizational work in transparent manner, saying: "Our approach and objective in the administrative framework is to find national institutions that are marked by correct, accurate system, with transparency and right functioning,".

President Al-Zubaidi addressed the attendants: "You represent the struggles and sacrifices presented by the great southern people, you represent a history of struggle, patience, hopes and aspirations of seeking for freedom and partnership," stressing on the importance of taking advanced steps and maintaining them.

President Al-Zubaidi pointed out that Hadramout suffered from terrorism as much as Aden, Abyan, Lahj, Shabwa and all the regions of the south.

He added "We have suffered from political terrorism, and extremism thoughts that have been created and directed to us in order to silent our voices and break our will, but fought it with all our strength, and we have achieved great successes in that,".

He continued: "Today we are in Mukalla, which once upon a time was handed over to ISIS and Al-Qaeda, but they got out of it by its people and the contributions of the southerners with them."

President Al-Zubaidi stressed on the need to hand over the control of Hadramaut valley to its sons as they are keen to secure it and they know what it requires.

He said: "Terrorism will not continue in Hadramaut valley whatever it costs. The sons of Hadramout will find us at the forefront for them. Today, it is time for Hadramout to enjoy its independence within our next federal South state , it is time for Hadramaut to be governed and managed by its people, and to regain their land, and benefit from its wealth.

Al-Zubaidi said: "The Arab coalition countries have made great efforts that they should be thanked for, they have made great efforts in humanitarian, services and economic files, so in turn we will be reliable to the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia and UAE as we are strategic partners in blood and destiny".

For his part, Major General Ahmed Saeed Ben Brik, President of the National Assembly, delivered a speech in which he said that holding the second session of the National Assembly in the city of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramaut reflects great meanings, and we held this meeting to support our people in Wadi Hadramout and Behan.

He added: "We will not allow the enemies of the south to disturb the security and stability of the south."

Major General Ben Brik invited the southern members of the expired Yemeni Parliament - to join the southern parliament represented by the National Assembly.

He stressed that "the South is for all Southerners and whatever we disagree on, we will agree at the end."

He called on all southerners to be united for the sake of their cause and their people.

He explained that the National Assembly has several projects and has full integrated project for the modern civil state.
