President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met in the capital, Aden, on Saturday with the Libyan Ambassador to Yemen, Mr. Idris Ahmed Abu Bakr.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi welcomed the Libyan ambassador, praising the strong historical ties between the two brotherly peoples and countries, and reaffirmed the political leadership’s commitment to strengthening these bilateral relations in a way that serves the mutual interests of both peoples in various sectors.
The meeting reviewed a range of topics of mutual interest, particularly bolstering bilateral cooperation and exchanging expertise in economic and developmental sectors, as well as reconstruction efforts to boost development and economic stability in both countries as a top priority at this stage.
The meeting also touched on securing a permanent headquarters for the Libyan diplomatic mission to exercise its tasks and activities from the capital, Aden, where President Al-Zubaidi reiterated the STC’s readiness to provide all required facilitations for diplomatic missions and international organizations, ensuring they operate in a secure and stable environment.
For his part, the Libyan ambassador expressed his thanks for the warm reception and appreciated the facilitations provided by the STC leadership to empower diplomatic missions to fully perform their tasks and duties, affirming Libya’s keenness to expand and develop bilateral cooperation across all fields.
The meeting was attended by Imad Mohammed, Director of the Office of the PLC Vice Chairman, and Mohammed Ali, Deputy Head of the STC’s Foreign Affairs Authority.
