President Aidarous Qassim Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Friday evening with Sheikh Sultan bin Ali Al-Aradah, Vice Chairman of the PLC and Governor of Marib Governorate, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The meeting discussed the latest economic developments in the country and the tireless efforts that have been made by the PLC, the government, and its relevant bodies. In this context, the urgent need for concerted efforts to find immediate solutions to the economic and living conditions that our people are going through was emphasized as a top priority, particularly concerning the collapse of the local currency and basic public services.
The meeting, which was held as part of broader efforts of coordination on various files, highlighted the need for cohesiveness in facing the current challenges. Foremost among these is the threat posed by the Houthi terrorist militia, which has caused widespread suffering, severely affected the people in both the South and the North, and even threatened their livelihoods and basic needs.
President Al-Zubaidi and Sheikh Al-Aradah reiterated the frequent calls from the PLC, the government, political parties, and other components, urging brotherly and friendly countries to urgently intervene to support efforts to rescue the deteriorating economic situation facing the country, and to consider this phase critically important and sensitive, particularly in terms of safeguarding the hard-won gains achieved and thwarting the Iranian-backed Houthi dynastic project.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, a member of the STC's Presidium and Head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission (CRC) supporting the PLC; Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, Head of the Political Commission assisting the Presidium of the STC; Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, Mr. Imad Mohammed, office director of the Vice President of the PLC; and Dr. Ali Al-Jabal, office director of Sheikh Sultan Al-Aradah.
