President Al-Zubaidi Inspects Second Military Region and Commends Security and Stability Efforts in Hadramaut

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), conducted on Sunday a visit to the headquarters of the Second Military Region in Al-Mukalla and was accompanied by Mr. Mabkhout bin Madi, Governor of Hadhramaut and head of the Security Committee, and Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly, together with senior STC officials, ministers, and local leaders of the governorate.

Upon his arrival, President Al-Zubaidi and his delegation were welcomed by Major General Talib Saeed Barghash, commander of the Second Military Region, alongside senior officers and department heads. The president was briefed on the workflow and ongoing security efforts aimed at bolstering stability in Hadhramaut.

President Al-Zubaidi listened to a briefing on combat preparedness, training, and qualification programs conducted to elevate operational efficiency among the forces, ensuring sustained readiness to counter potential security threats in the governorate.

Following that, President Al-Zubaidi convened a meeting with the Second Military Region Command, lauded the ultimate sacrifices of its personnel in countering security threats, and reiterated full support of the political leadership for their role as the governorate’s sole legitimate military command, and any attempts to destabilize security through unauthorized formations operating outside the purview of the state and its official institutions would be deemed unacceptable.

The president warned against any attempts to create parallel military forces or formations operating outside the official framework. Such action will be dealt with decisively to safeguard the sovereignty of the state and the integrity of its official institutions that represent a non-negotiable red line.

President Al-Zubaidi also highlighted the vital role of the Hadrami Elite Forces (HEF), praising their professionalism and contribution to maintaining order, describing the HEF as a model of disciplined military service and called for increased support to ensure they continue serving the interests of Hadramaut and its residents.
