President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), conducted a visit on Friday to inspect the progress of work in the King Salman Medical and Educational City project in Almahra Governorate, funded by brothers in Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction (SDRP).
During the tour, President Al-Zubaidi, accompanied by a high-level delegation including Almahra Governor Mohammed Ali Yasser, members of the STC's Presidium, ministers, and local officials, received a detailed briefing from representatives of the SDRP on the construction timeline of the strategic project, its implementation phases, and its key components, in addition to its operational capacity and the range of medical services it will provide to the residents of the governorate.
President Al-Zubaidi expressed his deep gratitude to Saudi Arabia’s leadership, led by the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his crown prince, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for their unwavering support and role in advancing healthcare service and infrastructure in Almahra Governorate.
While concluding his inspection visit, the president highlighted the pivotal role of the project as a strategic medical and educational hub that will contribute to elevating healthcare and educational services and alleviating the suffering of citizens, reiterating his full support for all ongoing efforts aimed at improving and modernizing the healthcare infrastructure in all governorates.
It is worth mentioning that this strategic project includes three intensive care units (ICUs), seven major and minor operating rooms, 18 outpatient clinics, a central laboratory, a radiology section, inpatient wards, and critical infrastructure such as a power plant, a waste treatment plant, a water desalination facility, and a dedicated oxygen reservoir.
