STC Presidium Surveys Field Teams Tasked with Assessing the Council's Organizational Performance and Identifying Citizens' Needs

The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting today, Thursday, chaired by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the STC and Chairman of the National Assembly, in the presence of the STC's ministers in the government and heads of the auxiliary bodies.

In the beginning of its meeting, the Presidium reviewed directives issued by President Al-Zubaidi regarding the formation of field teams to conduct political awareness campaigns, assess the organizational performance of the STC's bodies in the governorates, evaluate economic and service conditions, and find out about citizens' needs.

In this context, the Presidium listened to a comprehensive explanation from Dr. Nasser Al-Khubbaji, head of the political commission and head of the supervisory committee for field teams, outlining the tasks and objectives of the field teams, the measures taken, as well as the steps required from central and local bodies and the mechanism for their implementation to achieve the desired results.

The Presidium was also briefed by Dr. Al-Khubbaji on the political body's proposal for the main and sub-orientations of the STC's 2025 work plan, which was prepared in alignment with regional and international developments related to the political process, and the efforts exerted by the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen, as well as regional and international countries, to bring about peace in the country and the region.

The Presidium emphasized in its meeting the importance of field visits to governorates of the South by the assigned teams to assess the organizational performance of central and local bodies, which is aimed at providing the STC's leadership with a realistic view of its organizational performance, enabling it to reorganize its work, take effective corrective measures, and help resolve issues affecting the daily living of citizens at all levels.

During its meeting, the Presidium emphasized the crucial role of field teams in raising political awareness among STC-affiliated members and all citizens of the South and clarifying the political circumstances about the cause of the people of the South and the regional and international perspectives toward it.

In another context, the Presidium listened to a report from Mr. Zaid Al-Naqeeb, head of the Supreme Committee for National Events and Celebrations, on the committee’s arrangements for activities and events to commemorate the 57th anniversary of glorious national independence. In this regard, the Presidium stressed the importance of ensuring that the celebratory activities have to reflect the value of this momentous national occasion and the great ultimate sacrifices made to achieve this historic event.
