President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), has met on Thursday with her Excellency Catherine Corm-Kammoun, Ambassador of the Republic of France to Yemen.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the political and humanitarian situation in the country and the outcomes of the efforts that have been exerted by the regional and international communities aimed at ending the war and bringing about peace in light of the Houthi escalation on both land and at sea.
In the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi has reiterated the importance of joining up all local, regional, and international efforts to put an end to terrorism, which is practiced by the Iran-backed Houthi militias and the extremist groups that are linked to them in ideology, purpose, and behavior.
The meeting touched on the severe economic conditions facing the country as a result of the Houthi militia targeting oil and gas export ports. In this regard, the President has reiterated that the PLC and the government are greatly relying on the support of official brothers and friends, foremost among them France, to lift the country out of this difficult situation and improve the living conditions of citizens.
For her part, the French Ambassador has reiterated the commitment of her country's government to back the PLC and the internationally recognized government to lift the country out of its crisis and to support regional and international efforts to cease the war and bring about peace and the efforts made by brotherly and friendly countries to secure maritime navigation in international waters.
