President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), has met at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, today, Wednesday, with H.E. DO Bong-kae, Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Yemen.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed enhancing aspects of joint cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations with the Republic of South Korea in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two friendly countries.
The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the dire humanitarian situation in the country, given the suffering endured by our people due to the continued escalation of the Houthi militia against maritime shipping lanes and its targeting of oil export ports, and the ongoing efforts by the regional and international communies to cease the war, bring about peace, and establish stability both in the country and the region.
President Al-Zubaidi praised the positive role that South Korea plays in assisting our people across various sectors, especially under the difficult circumstances that the country is going through, expressing his aspiration for a greater Korean role in supporting the development path of the country in the near future.
For his part, the ambassador has reaffirmed his country's unwavering support for peace-building efforts and its readiness to continue providing development and humanitarian assistance and expressed its commitment to supporting training and capacity-building programs for young people in technical and vocational institutes, enabling them to keep pace with the rapid technological developments in various fields.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Jinju Kim, Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Yemen.
