President Al-Zubaidi Gets Briefed on Measures of the Ministry of Finance to Improve Revenue Collection Efficiency

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Sovereign and Local Resources (SCSLR), met on Friday with Minister of Finance Salem bin Brik.

President Al-Zubaidi was briefed by the Minister of Finance on the workflow in the Ministry, its affiliated bodies and departments, the procedures followed by the Ministry to improve the efficiency of collecting revenues and government fees, and its efforts to address imbalances in revenue vessels, in addition to the challenges and difficulties it faces in this aspect and ways that would contribute to overcoming them.

President Al-Zubaidi, too, listened to the Minister of Finance, who gave a full explanation of the level of implementation of the tasks assigned to the ministry as per the decisions of the last meeting of the SCSLR, foremost of which is formally communicating with the economic units to quickly close their accounts in exchange companies and the necessity of depositing to the Central Bank in accordance with the law, in addition to what the ministry has accomplished in the aspect of preparing the spending plan for the year 2024.

President Al-Zubaidi underscored expediting the completion of the remaining assignments approved at the last meeting of the SCSLR, and the submission of a detailed report that includes the committed and non-committed bodies and units so that the Committee can take the appropriate measures against them.
