President Al-Zubaidi Meets with Elite Journalists and Media Professionals of the South

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Wednesday evening with a group of elite journalists and media professionals of the South.

In the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi congratulated the journalists and media professionals on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, highlighting the importance of the media message in spreading the noble values that the holy month embodies.

President Al-Zubaidi then reviewed the latest political developments, particularly developments related to the UN-led peace process to durably end the conflict in the country, and the implications of the roadmap in light of the continued Houthi escalation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Furthermore, the President stressed the importance of the role of the press and media in exposing the false slogans adopted by the Houthi militias in their escalation against international shipping lanes in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, asserting that the militias are using the Palestinian issue as a cover for their heinous crimes against civilians in areas under their control while preventing food and medicine from reaching ports in the country.

In his speech, President Al-Zubaidi touched on the latest developments regarding the opening of roads and crossings, pointing out that what the Houthi militia is doing by claiming to open the roads is a false show aimed at attracting attention and evading the obligations of a political solution.

The President noted that the opening of crossings must be done as per agreed-upon controls and mechanisms within the framework of the comprehensive solution map and under UN supervision, not according to the whims of the Houthi militias.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, Head of the Political Commission assisting the Presidium of the STC, and the Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit in the STC, Dr. Saleh Mohsen Al-Haj, Director of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA), and Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA) assisting the Presidium of the STC, provided clarifications on the inquiries raised by a number of the attendees regarding the issues and developments on the national scene.
