President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zoubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received on Tuesday evening a delegation of Almahra Governorate participating in the founding meeting of the House of Commons (HC), which was held this morning in the capital, Aden.
In the meeting, which was attended by members of the STC's Presidium, Dr. Salem Al-Qumairi and Sheikh Rajeh Bakrit, Mr. Saeed Saadan, the head of the Council’s Institutional Development Commission (IDC), and Mr. Mujahid bin Afrar, head of the local leadership executive body (LLEB) in Almahra, the President praised the active participation of the people of Almahra in the founding meeting of the House of Commons, as their presence from varied and far areas and tribes reflects the status of Almahra, its important position on the map of southern political action, and the keenness of its people to actively participate in drawing the future features of the state of the South.
The President reiterated that Almahra Governorate has been and will definitely remain a key pillar of the state of the South, as it is the eastern gateway, the source of rich cultural heritage, and the geopolitical and economic importance that it represents in the state of the South.
President Al-Zoubaidi called on the representatives of Almahra in all STC's bodies to touch the concerns, problems, and issues of citizens and work to solve them; each one should, from his own position, give every effort so that people can feel tangible achievements, the positive effect of which can contribute to the public good. The President reiterated his support for the people of Almahra and their right to manage the affairs of their governorate in all civil, military, and security aspects.
President Al-Zoubaidi then listened to a brief explanation from the attendees about the overall situation in Almahra, the issues and demands of the people of the governorate, the challenges facing the work of the LLEBs, and the mechanisms that would effectively contribute to solving them.
The esteemed attendees expressed their deep thanks and appreciation to President Aidarous Al-Zoubaidi for the special attention his excellency pays to Almahra Governorate and for allocating a large amount of his time to attentively listen to their concerns and address their issues, noting that their presence in the capital, Aden, and participation in the founding meeting of the House of Commons with an elite group of personalities from the various Mahri segments are clear crystal evidence that Almahra will not be out of tune with the South.
