President Al-Zoubaidi Gets Briefed on Ministry of Defense Efforts to Promote Military Capabilities of its Members

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zoubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Sunday with Lieutenant-General Mohsen Al-Da'eri, the Minister of Defense.

The President listened to Minister Al-Daeri, who gave a detailed explanation of the results of his tour, which included the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the series of meetings he held with officials in those countries to enhance military cooperation and support the armed forces in various aspects.

President Al-Zoubaidi was also briefed by Minister Al-Da'eri on the details of his field visits, which included a number of military areas, and the efforts exerted by the Ministry’s leadership to raise the alertness and readiness of personnel of the military institution. In this regard, President Al-Zoubaidi stressed the need for the upcoming training year, 2024, to include special programs that enhance the level of discipline, increase efficiency, polish up the capabilities and drilling skills of officers and individuals alike, and reflect positively on maintaining the state of security and stability.

The meeting touched on the military developments on the national and regional scene, the escalating Houthi threats to international shipping lanes in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb, and the Gulf of Aden, and the preparations of the armed forces to contribute effectively to safeguarding maritime shipping lanes in the region in coordination with regional and international partners.
