President Al-Zubaidi Meets with Foreign Affairs Minister of Guinea-Bissau

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met at his residence in New York City today, Friday, with H.E. Mr. Carlos Pinto Pereira, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the political and humanitarian situation in the country and the role of the international community in advancing the peace process and collectively working to keep a durable resolution to the Yemen conflict a priority on the international stage, in light of the efforts being made by the brothers in the region to reach a deal that ends the war and establishes a comprehensive and sustainable peace.

President Al-Zubaidi expressed his appreciation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guinea and his interest in the situation of the country, articulating the aspiration of the PLC to strengthen bilateral relations with various African countries, at the forefront of which is the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guinea-Bissau expressed his thanks to President Al-Zubaidi for the opportunity to meet with him and to be exposed to the latest developments in the country, affirming his country’s aspiration to build distinguished relations with all countries in the region.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Amr Ali Al-Beidh, Member of the STC's Presidium and Special Representative of the President of the STC, and Dr. Saleh Al-Hajj, Director of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the STC.
