The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting today, Tuesday, chaired by Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Vice President of the STC.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Presidium listened to a report submitted by the Research and Decision Support Center (RDSC) of the STC on the significance of the visit of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), to the USA, his participation with the Chairman of the PLC in the Political Forum for Sustainable Development, and the meetings of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
In this respect, the Presidium lauded the visit conducted by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi to the United States, affirming that it represents a great opportunity to put the cause of the people of the South before the major international powers to support the aspirations of our people to restore their state.
Likewise, the Presidium highlighted the great importance of the participation of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, along with the Chairman of the PLC, in the Political Forum for Sustainable Development, as well as the meeting with US Secretary of State Mr. Antony Blinken and US Special Envoy Mr. Tim Lenderking on the first day of his arrival in New York City.
Furthermore, the Presidium focused on the political developments related to the cause of the people of the South, and in this regard, it has reiterated its position in support of the initiative of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the tireless efforts made by the brothers in the Sultanate of Oman to end the war and bring about peace, stressing that restoring the state of the South will remain the safest solution and the real guarantor of the success of the political process and efforts to establish comprehensive and inclusive peace in the region.
Similarly, the Presidium stood before the latest military developments on the front lines with the Houthi militia and the security developments, the most important of which are the attempts of some Brotherhood forces to agitate their terrorist elements on the territory of the South, coinciding with the Houthi mobilization on the fronts. Therefore, the Presidium commended the legendary steadfastness of the southern armed forces, the ultimate sacrifices of its affiliates, their keeping a sharp lookout for thwarting all Houthi attacks, and their fending off attempts to stir up chaos by hostile forces aimed at destabilizing security and stability in the cities of the South.
In addition to that, the Presidium renewed its position in support of the command of the Hadrami Elite Forces against the attempts to target them by hostile forces, asserting that these forces will definitely remain a great Hadrami and southern achievement and that through their final sacrifices, the areas of the Hadramaut Coast regained security, stability, freedom, and dignity for the citizens.
In another context, the presidium of the council warned against the continued intransigence of the prime minister in implementing his unilateral measures, underscoring that this represents a deliberate trend towards aggravating the situation.
In the context of its meeting, which was attended by several members of the National Assembly and the Southern National Dialogue Team, the Presidium discussed a range of topics related to working with local bodies in the governorates, unions, organizations, elites, and community segments to strengthen southern national cohesiveness and activate the role of local leaders among them, and took the appropriate measures in this regard.
