The Southern woman .. Source of Tenderness, Sacrifice and Compassion
It must be said on International Women's Day that the Southern woman stood side by side with her partner the man in all the stages of our political and social history in the South and she wove constantly with her fingers the threads of sacrifice, glory and triumph.
The Southern woman is the virtuous nanny and the school of generations, namely, mother, sister, wife and daughter. She is the martyr, the wife of the martyr, the mother of the martyr, the mother of the detainee and prisoner. She is the wounded, patient, displaced and bereaved. She is the source of tenderness, sacrifice and compassion.
To all the women of my great country my sincere greetings and gratitude.
