Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met today, Thursday, in the city of Al-Mukalla, with a number of dignitaries and notables from Ad-Dees Al-Sharqia District in Hadramout governorate.
In the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, a member of the STC's Presidium and the official spokesman of the STC, Major General Ben Brik was briefed on the latest developments in the situation in Ad-Dees Al-Sharqia and the daily living conditions of the citizens in the district.
During the meeting, the Vice President of the STC referred to the special status of Ad-Dees Al-Sharqia and its distinctive landmarks, highlighting that Hadramaut governorate has a deeply rooted history, including scholars who spread Islam throughout the globe, an economy, and a cross-dimensional area as large as countries.
The Chairman of the Assembly underscored that the southerners must be united to give no chance to the foes and enemies of the South, and this is what the STC has been striving to fulfil, led by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), who called for the southern national dialogue, which culminated in the consultative meeting and the signing of the National Charter for the first time in the history of the South, in addition to whatever guarantees the consolidation of the southern ranks and rapprochement and their participation in building the aspired state of the South, noting that the sixth session of the National Assembly, which was held in Hadramout, asserted this fact in its closing statement.
In the meeting, in which Mr. Mohammad Saeed Bakhwar, Director General of Ad-Dees Al-Sharqia District, and Mr. Salah Ahmed Al-Kassadi, Head of the Executive Body of the Local Leadership of the STC in Ad-Dees Al-Sharqia, participated, Major General Bin Brik called for coalescing around the wise southern leadership that works for the South and its people, pointing to the importance of upgrading institutions, keeping abreast of changes, fighting corruption, benefiting from expertise, giving priority to the public interest, solving problems, and meeting the challenges facing the South.
In turn, Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri confirmed what Major General Bin Brik said, explaining in the context that the leadership of the STC will spare no effort in following up and easing the difficulties facing the people and working to find appropriate solutions, appreciating the national feelings of the district and its people towards the South, and that the STC's leadership will do the best to give the district the well-deserved status.
For their part, the representatives of Ad-Dees Al-Sharqia expressed their gratitude for the meeting with Major General Bin Brik and Mr. Ali Al Kathiri, appreciating their good reception and listening to their concerns, affirming their congratulations and blessings for what came out of the consultative meeting of the southern components and the final statement of the sixth session of the National Assembly, and their adherence to the project of the South being shouldered by the STC and through which it strives to achieve the aspirations of the people of the South.
