Major General Bin Brik meets delegates of Abd al-Kuri Island and gets briefed on the island's needs

The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, Major General Ahmed Saeed Bin Brik, met with delegates from Abd al-Kuri island of Socotra, Ahmad Salem al-Jamahi, political activist and director of the Abd al-Kuri School, and the youth activist Hussein Salem Baabad.

During the meeting, Major General Bin Brik listened from the delegates of Abd al-Kuri Island to a full explanation of the island's needs and requirements for services, foremost of which is the construction of 3 classrooms, and the required attention to the island's health center, as well as establishing a number of training courses in the field of health, in addition to providing a refrigerator and an electrical generator with a capacity of 60-100 tons, in order to freeze and preserve fish so that the residents of the island can export them to outside the governorate.

The meeting also discussed a number of issues related to the island, and possible ways to provide transportation to transport sick cases to the governorates of the South that are near the island in order to receive treatment.

In the meeting, Mohammad Ali Nasser Al-Aush, deputy Head of the Culture Committee, member of the Assembly praised the interest of the presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, represented by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, and Major General Ahmed Saeed, the Chairman of the National Assembly, for their unlimited interest in providing the requirements and needs of the island (Abd al-Kuri) and improve its status in health, education, economy, and others.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chairman of the National Assembly directed both Dr. Salem Al-Shabhi, head of the health and environment committee in the Assembly, and Ahmed Al-Wali, advisor to the governor of the capital, Aden, to pay more attention to this island through coordination with organizations to provide health and educational support and all the services it needs.
