The Presidency warns against covering up fugitive criminal Imam Al-Silwi and calls on citizens to report any information leading to arrest and bring him to justice

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, on Monday, held its periodic meeting, chaired by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by the Council’s ministers in the government power-sharing, the attendees stood for a minute to read Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs of the events that took place in Crater, asking the Almighty Allah to bless them with mercy and forgiveness, dwell them in spacious gardens, and inspire their families patience and solace, wishing for the wounded a speedy recovery.

The Presidency reviewed the latest developments in the capital, Aden, in particular, and the South in general, foremost of which is the attempt to destabilize the public tranquility in the city of Crater, which was carried out by armed terrorist elements led by the so-called Imam Ahmed Abdo Al-Silwi, which comes within a political scheme to reflect a false image of the reality of the security situation in the capital. Aden, to justify the refusal of a large number of ministers to return to the capital, Aden, to carry out their work within the framework of the government of power-sharing between the South and the North, as well as obstructing the visit of the new UN envoy to the southern capital, Aden, and exploiting the difficult economic and living conditions experienced by citizens to push them to participate in exploding the situation in Aden the capital, and the South in general, and exploiting this to eliminate the accomplishments of the South achieved by the sacrifices of its martyrs.

In this context, the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council praised the great efforts made by the Security Committee headed by Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, the Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council, in the capital, Aden, head of the security committee in the capital, and the security forces, with the support of the Southern Armed Forces, and the cooperation of the citizens of Crater and all districts of the capital, to thwart the conspiracy that targeted not only the city of Crater, but also all districts and neighborhoods of the capital, Aden, and the South in general.

The Presidency of the Council also praised the role of the Higher Committee for Relief and Humanitarian Action in the Council, as well as the role of the local leadership and the Executive Authority of the Transitional Council in the capital, Aden, which took the initiative to visit the families of the martyrs, inspect the conditions of the wounded in hospitals, meet with the affected families, and provide urgent and necessary assistance to alleviate their suffering as a result of this conspiracy.

The Presidency also praised the rapid efforts of the service sectors in the capital to repair the damage caused in the electricity and water sectors, as well as the efforts of cleaners to remove the resulted wastes, and treat more than 80% of them in the hours following the announcement of the security committee to control the situation, calling for redoubling these efforts to remove the remaining ones entirely.

The Presidency stressed the need for the security committee to continue the efforts to follow up, research and track down the fugitive criminal named Imam Ahmed Abdo Al-Silwi, and all those who participated with him in inciting, planning and executing the crime, as well as the acts of intimidation prior to the conspiracy, which included closing shops and imposing fees on them by force to finance their criminal activities, calling on, in the context, to the citizens of Crater in particular, and the capital, Aden in general, not to hesitate to provide any information that leads to their arresting and bringing them to justice, so that they receive a deterrent punishment for what they have committed against the city of Crater and its people, warning at the same time of the consequences of covering up them, which expose their perpetrators to accountability.

The Presidency called on the Transitional Council’s bodies, security units and the southern armed forces, to provide all necessary support to assist the leadership of the local authority in removing the remainder of the random construction at the top of Shamsan mountain, and closing the roads developed for transporting construction materials to it.

The Presidency called on to the people of the south not to be drawn into counter rumors aimed at distorting the position of the Council, the role of the security committee, the leaders of the military and security units and their brave heroes and their unified, solid and valiant stance in the face of criminal and sabotage acts targeting the south and its achievements, stressing the need to obtain information from its official sources.

In its discussion of the Yemeni situation, the Presidency expressed its condemnation and denunciation of the barbaric and aggressive bombing carried out by the Houthi terrorist militia and targeting civilians in Marib governorate, stressing that these practices reflect the brutal and bloody behavior of this terrorist militia.

In its meeting, the Presidency of the Council touched on a number of developments related to the security situation in other governorates of the South, and a number of issues related to the work of the Council's bodies and took the necessary measures in this regard.
