Presidency of Transitional Council reviews level of government commitments implementation in services and economic fields

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held on Saturday, its first periodic meeting for this week, headed by Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji, Acting President of the Council, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, Secretary-General of the Presidency Council, Governor of Aden the capital, in which the Presidency reviewed the level of implementation by the government of parity of its obligations towards services and salaries and addressing the economic situation in light of the oil derivative grant provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to secure the needs of power stations.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Transitional Council from among the ministers in the government of parity, and the director of security in the capital Aden, the director of security for the province of Lahj, the leaders of the backup and support units, and the special forces, in which the Presidency stressed the need to stop unilateral practices that violate the systems, laws and determinants of partnership within the framework of equal sharing stipulated in the Riyadh Agreement, and allowing southerners appointed by Republican decisions to exercise their leadership functions at the level of ministries and central institutions.

At the same time, the Presidency warned against preserving some illusory positions in violation of the government and ministries, such as the function of the spokesperson, deputy ministers and agents, distributed in the capitals of some countries, stressing the urgent need to reset this process and replace it with a modern and effective mechanism to suit the work and competencies of the parity government and the requirements of partnership in accordance with the contents of the Riyadh Agreement.

The Presidency renewed its demand for the government of parity to follow the principle of transparency in the allocations and budgets approved for each of the Ministries of Defense and Interior, and to restructure their work and prevent their transformation into private partisan fiefdoms, away from the government and the relevant regulatory agencies, stressing the need to deal with the military and security units in accordance with the principle of equality without discrimination, and determine a position on what is happening at the level of the fighting fronts on the southern borders, as well as acts of violence and terrorism.

On the other hand, the Presidency stood before the results of the investigations that took place about the abuses that took place during the protests that reached Maasheeq Palace, where the Presidency demanded the need to take more effective measures to fill the gaps that accompanied those protests, and in this context it called on the forces, cultural, civil and military bodies and platforms to rationalize political speech and the exercise of the right to protest and demonstrate peacefully, free from violence and acts of sabotage.

In its review of the health situation, specifically the second wave of the emerging corona virus, the Presidency called on the international community and organizations working in this field to double their support for the health sector in the capital Aden and other southern governorates to confront this deadly virus, stressing that citizens must adhere to the decisions taken by the local authorities to besiege epidemic and mitigate its spread.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the authority renewed its appreciation for the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for electricity fuel, and to move the reconstruction program in a number of development areas in the capital, Aden and other southern governorates.
