Dr. Al-Khobaji reviews the situation in Mayon Island

The Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, Dr. Nasser Al-Khobji, met on Thursday, with Colonel Saleh Al-Khazour, Commander of the Security Belt inn Mayon Island.

The meeting was attended by Brigadier General Kamal Hamshari, Director of the Office of the President of the Transitional Council, and Brigadier Mohsen Al-Wali, Commander-in-Chief of the Backup and Support Brigades, in which Dr. Al-Khobaji listened from Colonel Al-Khazour to an integrated explanation about the general conditions in Mayon Island, and the suffering of the citizens there as a result of the deteriorating economic conditions.

Dr. Al-Khobaji also got acquainted from Al-Khazour about the level of readiness of the security forces stationed in the island, which is administratively affiliated to Malla District in the capital Aden, and their efforts to establish security and stability.

Al-Khobaji affirmed the Transitional Council’s keenness and interest in Mayon Island and the suffering of its residents, who for years have been far from the circle of concern of the authorities, stressing that the Transitional Council is making every effort to provide what can be provided to the island’s residents according to the available and possible capabilities.

On his part, Colonel Al-Khazour expressed thanks to the leadership of the Transitional Council for the interest in the residents of Mayon Island, noting that the humanitarian aids provided by the Council from time to time to the people of the island had a great impact on them and alleviated part of their suffering after successive years of neglect.
