Presidency of Southern Transitional Council affirms its adherence to its position regarding unilateral decisions

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held on Sunday, its periodic meeting headed by Mr. Fadl Mohammad Al-Jaadi, Acting President of the Council, Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency.

The Presidency discussed the latest developments in the national arena, confirming in the context its adherence to the Council’s declared position, which is to prevent the implementation of any decisions on the ground that are not previously consulted with the Presidency of the Council regarding them to be issued according to the Riyadh Agreement.

The Presidency stressed the need to continue the work of the negotiation teams to address the various issues on which consensus had not been completed, calling on the Arab Coalition to assume its responsibilities as a sponsor of the Riyadh Agreement that grants the parity government all the tasks to manage state affairs, and the necessity to cancel unilateral decisions and stop their repeated issuance of whatever kind before agreeing on them, noting that issuing such decisions has no goal other than fabricating obstacles and pushing the situation towards confrontation to thwart the Agreement.

The Presidency renewed its rejection of the new provocative military measures of the Brotherhood militia in Shokra front, appeared in the redeployment of its forces in some front sites, from which they had previously withdrawn according to the Coalition's plan to accelerate the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, as well as the refusal of the Presidency to the continuous and systematic military mobilization of these militias by bringing in their forces from Yemeni governorates, in addition to the previous forces for re-armed confrontation, and for these forces to resume the fortifications that were removed by the Coalition, as well as opening new bypass roads for their forces to reach the advanced sites in the front.

The Presidency called for the field inspection of the Saudi Committee, which should be continuous and sudden to remove these violations in order to avoid a reaction that will only weaken the peaceful option to address the differences on the southern arena and turn them into a war arena, which is what these militias seek to impose in the south to thwart the orientations of the Council and many national forces represented in the government of parity, for those who reject these actions, whose positions are also consistent with the Council, in preventing the issuance of unilateral decisions and their risks to the success of the government's mission and to transform Abyan and the south into a battlefield again.

In its meeting, the meeting addressed a number of other issues, the most important of which is the Council’s relationship with the government and local authorities in light of recent developments to preserve and implement the Riyadh Agreement, and the tasks before the government that require setting it as a priority in implementation, foremost of which is the disbursement of salaries, and rebuilding the headquarter of ministries and their central institutions to empower ministries and their institutions, and to perform its duties.
