The General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held on Tuesday its periodic meeting, headed by Mr. Fadl Mohammad Al-Jaadi, the Assistant Secretary-General.

At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Jaadi congratulated those presented on the coming of Eid Al-Adha, wishing everyone a happy holiday.

The Assistant Secretary-General also saluted the masses of our southern people who went out in a peaceful demonstration in the city of Lawdar in the governorate of Abyan and before it in the city of Al-Ghaydah in the governorate of Al-Mahra, and other cities of the south in support of the Southern Transitional Council and in support of the self-administration decision.

Al-Jaadi stressed that these peaceful mass demonstrations expressed the great and popular support that the Southern Transitional Council has, and assured the authorization for the Council to lead to achieve the aspirations of the people of the South to restore their full sovereign state and administrate its affairs and resources.

The Assistant Secretary General briefed the attendees on the developments of the efforts of the negotiating delegation of the Transitional Council, led by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, aimed at implementing the Riyadh Agreement, confirming the support of the General Secretariat for all steps taken by the delegation in this regard.

After that, the Economic Department previewed a report on the economic situation in the south and the conditions of citizens with the effects of stopping the payment of salaries, deterioration of the local currency exchange rate, and the unprecedented rise in food prices.

The report noted on to what the government of corruption did by withdrawing large amounts of money from the central bank for the salaries of its employees abroad in light of stopping the payment of the salaries of the southern military.

The meeting also stressed on the importance of searching for sustainable solutions and treatments for water and electricity power problems in the capital Aden and the rest of the southern governorates according to scientific and methodological studies and ensuring its implementation efficiently and effectively.

The meeting discussed and approved the weekly activity report of the General Secretariat departments and the minutes of the previous meeting.
