Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council holds its weekly meeting chaired by Major General Ben Brik

The Southern Transitional Council Presidency held on Sunday, its weekly meeting chaired by Major General Ahmed Saeed Ben Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly, with the participation of members of the "Calm Committee for the Military Situation in the South".

The meeting listened to a detailed explanation on the calm's performance and the efforts to remove tension and provide the elements for dialogue to unify the southern lines in the face of southern enemies, who unite together despite their contradictory interests to re-occupy the South.

The Presidency stressed that the current conditions require everyone to unite efforts to face the threat of the spread of the Corona virus, which threatens the people of the South in general, and to work as a team to spare the people the risks of this humanitarian crisis that threatens humanity.

The meeting approved the commissioning of Major General Mohsen Salem Askar, Adviser to the President of the Southern Transitional Council, for military affairs, and the Chairman of the Southern Military and Security Committee, to sit with the committee to take the necessary measures to implement what the meeting approved, with the stressing of the Transitional Council on the need for the other side to commit to rationalizing its media speech inciting to war, in which the Transitional Council committed to avoid it throughout the last period.

The Presidency stood in its meeting before the latest developments on the southern arena after the emergence of a case of corona virus infection in the city of Al-Shehr in Hadramout governorate, and the procedures to be taken in this regard, where the authority issued a number of measures to confront this dangerous development, and appealed to all the people of the south to rise to the level of awareness on the risks that threaten Southern society life in general, inviting them to fully cooperate in its implementation, as follows:

1) Extending the curfew for a period of two weeks and increasing the hours of the curfew to be from (8 pm to 6 am) starting from Monday, April 13, 2020, excluding health facilities and its workers such as hospitals, dispensaries, pharmacies and workers in emergency services such as electricity, water, sanitation, cleaning and fuel stations.

2) Closing the southern territorial accesses for the southern governorates for a period of two weeks, starting at 12 midnight on Tuesday, 14 April 2020, while permitting the entry of goods, fuels, relief materials and food commodities (vegetables, fruits, meat, dairy, etc.) and the continued closure of air and marine ports. (The prohibition applies to passengers, tourism and the like).

3) The complete closure of the large and small Qat markets in the capital Aden and the southern governorates, for a period of two weeks, starting on Tuesday, 14 April 2020, and preventing its entry through the southern territorial accesses, and preventing its selling in random markets in the streets and neighborhoods inside and outside the cities.

4) The closure of large and small commercial centers and malls for two weeks, with the exception of food, grocery and vegetable sales centers, with their owners abiding by the curfew times (8 pm - 6 am).

5) Closing the restaurants for a period of two weeks, while continuing to sell by take away during the times (6-9 am / 11-2 pm / 5-7:30 pm).

6) The continued closure of mosques and preventing prayers in congregation and Friday prayers for a period of two weeks, urging the elders, scholars and imams of mosques to help educating the people about the need to adhere to the ban.
