Major General Ben Brik presides joint meeting of military and security commanders on measures to confront Corona

Major General Ahmed Saeed Ben Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, on Saturday, presided over a joint meeting of the military and security commanders, to discuss the measures required to confront the Corona virus "Covid 19".

The meeting, which was attended by Dr. Abdul Nasser Al Wali, member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Major General Fadl Hassan Mohammed, Commander of the Fourth Military Region, and Major General Fadl Baesh, Commander of the Special Security Forces, reviewed the developments related to the procedures to confront this pandemic, after announcing the discovery of the first confirmed infection with the virus, in the district of Al-Shehr, in Hadramout governorate

In this regard, the meeting approved the increase in the curfew hours to start from eight in the evening until six in the morning, and for another two weeks, starting on Sunday, 12 April 2020.

The meeting also approved the total closure of the Qat markets, and prevented its sale and circulation in the capital, Aden, and the southern governorates, starting from 12:00 midnight Sunday, and assigning checkpoints and ports officials in the governorates concerned to prevent its passage for a period of two weeks.

In addition to that, the meeting approved the closure of the land ports of Aden, with the continued closure of sea and air outlets, starting from 12:00 after midnight on Monday, as well as the continued closure of major commercial markets and malls, and restaurants, with the commitment to sale meals only in take away.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the Southern Transitional Council to the decision of the leadership of the Arab Coalition to stop the ceasefire and to devote efforts to confront the dangers of the Corona virus.

The meeting stressed on the need to develop plans to ensure the intensification of awareness campaigns on how to prevent corona virus, and on domestic isolation, through the media and the publication of emergency numbers to report any suspected cases of the virus.
