Major General Ben Brik attends ceremony of International Women's Day organized by "Southerners Women for Tolerance and Reconciliation"

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Transitional Council, witnessed, on Sunday, the artistic and speech ceremony organized by the Preparatory Committee for "Southern Women for Tolerance and Reconciliation", under the patronage of the President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, on the occasion of International Women's Day, under the slogan "Together towards the cohesion of southern women from Hoof of Al-Mahra to Bab Al-Mandab", and in the presence of Major General Salem Al-Sokatri, Assistant Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, and Attorney Niran Sooki, Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly, Dr. Mona Bashraheel, and Mr. Ali Al-Shaiba, members of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, and Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Dali, Advisor to the President of the Transitional Council for Foreign Affairs, in addition to leaders and women’s personalities, institutions, community organizations, and large crowd of women from the governorates of the south.

Major General bin Brik delivered a speech in which he conveyed the congratulations of President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Transitional Council, and the rest of the members of the Presidency of the Council, to all the women of the south who came from all southern regions to celebrate this occasion, under the principle of tolerance and reconciliation of southern women for the south, and they are the ones who gave their most precious to defend the land of the south and restore the southern state, wishing them all the success.

Ms. Najwa Fadhl, Advisor to the President of the Transitional Council for Women Affairs, and Head of the Preparatory Committee for "Southern Women for Tolerance and Reconciliation", delivered the speech of the southern woman, in which she congratulated the women of the world in general and southern women in particular on the International Women's Day, praising the sacrifices the women made to face marginalization and challenges before them, until she could show and proven herself to become pioneer in many areas. Najwa express her appreciation to the leadership of the Transitional Council for sponsoring this ceremony.

Ishtiaq Mohammad Saad, Head of the Women and Children Department of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, also delivered a speech, in which she expressed her pride for being with southern women who have a long history of struggle and steadfastness, confirming that southern women will remain a strong protection for the south, and she congratulated on the occasion of International Women's Day every southern woman who had stood up against adversity.

The ceremony included theatrical sketch about cohesion of  all southern governorates prepared by the Center for Arts, Culture and Popular Heritage of Southern Women, and a documentary film was screened entitled "Southern Woman has honorable history in the important stages she passed through", in addition to presenting a number of songs, traditional dances, and poems.
