Dr. Al-Khubaji meets the American ambassador to Yemen

The member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Head of the Negotiation Affairs Unit, Chairman of the Transitional Team in the Joint Committee to follow up the procedures of implementing the Riyadh Agreement, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, received on Wednesday at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, Mr. Christopher Henzel, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Yemen.

In the meeting, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji praised the efforts made by the United States to resolve the crisis in Yemen, and the Arab coalition to achieve the goals of the Firmness Storm, and the efforts sponsored by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to implement the Riyadh Agreement, stressing on the Southern Transitional Council's keenness to implement the agreement.

Dr. Al-Khubaji previewed the executive matrix that was signed to implement the terms of the Riyadh Agreement, sressing that the Transitional Council has committed to implement its related obligations, and is waiting for the government to fulfill its obligations to withdraw from Abyan and Shabwa and appoint a governor and director of Aden's security.

Dr. Al-Khubaji reviewed the deteriorating security conditions in the governorates of Shabwa, Abyan, and Hadramout Valey, calling on to restore the Shabwani elite and the security belt in Abyan, and support the Hadrami elite to receive the Hadramout valley and secure it from terrorist groups and achieve security integration.

Dr. Al-Khubaji also reviewed the deteriorating living conditions facing the people in the liberated governorates due to the failure and neglect of the legitimate government, calling to put more pressure on the government to play its role in providing services and salaries and reduce the burdens of living for citizens.

Dr. Al-Khubaji stressed on the need to unify the internal front to confront the threat of Houthi and the Iranian project in Yemen and the region in general, reviewing the role of the people of the south in confronting the Houthis in Lahj, Al-Dhalea, Yafi`, and Mokiras, and the victories achieved by the Transitional Council forces in all fronts.

For his part, the American ambassador Christopher Henzel stressed on the support of the United States of America to the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to implement the Riyadh Agreement, and praised the cooperation of the Southern Transitional Council in this regard, and the positive spirit that the Transitional Council demonstrated, and its determination to implement the agreement.

The meeting was attended by members of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council and the Transitional Team of the Joint Committee to follow up the procedures of implementing the Riyadh Agreement, Mr. Ali Al-Katheeri, Mr. Abdul Rahman Sheikh and Engineer Adnan Al-Kaf, and Mr. Chris Couls, Deputy Director of the Political and Economic Section of the Embassy of the United States of America.
