Al-Khubaji meets Ambassador and Special Envoy of Kingdom of Sweden to Middle East and North Africa

Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, Chairman of the Transitional Team in the Joint Committee to follow up the procedures of implementing the Riyadh Agreement, met on Tuesday at his residence in Riyadh, Mr. Peter Semenby, Ambassador and Special Envoy of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Middle East and North Africa, and Mr. Erik Salemgreen von Shantz, First Secretary for Political Affairs at Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in Riyadh.

In the meeting, which was attended by members of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Ali Al-Kathiri, Abdul Rahman Sheikh, and Adnan Al-Kaf, Dr. Al-Khubaji praised the efforts made by the Kingdom of Sweden to stop the war and bring peace.

Dr. Al-Khubaji briefed the envoy of the Kingdom of Sweden on the progress of the process of implementing the Riyadh Agreement and the obstacles it faces, reviewing the most important items that the Southern Transitional Council has responded for its implementation, stressing on the importance of full and creative implementation of all the terms of the Riyadh Agreement according to their hierarchy and chronology stipulated in the agreement.

Al-Khubaji stressed that there are many political arrangements that are not implemented in the terms of the Riyadh Agreement, indicating that the agreement should not be limited to a selective part, but rather an integrated whole that should be implemented according to what was stipulated in the agreement without sectioning or selectivity, stressing on the necessity of returning the coming forces from Marib and Al-Jouf to its camps, and the necessity of returning the Shabwani Elite Forces and the security belt in Abyan to exercise their duties and roles in preserving security and combating terrorism.

Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji praised the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its active efforts to implement the Riyadh Agreement and the development and reconstruction of the liberated governorates and support the national economy and military and development support in all fields.

For his part, the envoy of the Kingdom of Sweden expressed his happiness to meet the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council, and urged the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement as a first step on the path to reaching comprehensive political process negotiations.
