President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi meets the US Ambassador to Yemen

The President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, met on Wednesday in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, the United States Ambassador to Yemen, Christopher Hansel, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting discussed ways of coordination and cooperation between the United States and the Southern Transitional Council in order to enhance the chances of peace and the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement.

The President of the Southern Transitional Council stressed on the importance of the US role in our country, calling on Washington to support the security system to combat terrorism and extremism, and to support the Coast Guard forces to protect maritime lines and southern coasts in order to enhance the stability in the region.

President Al-Zubaidi praised the efforts of the friends in USA, especially in supporting a comprehensive political process, as well as their efforts in combating terrorism, praising the US keenness to establish security and bring peace, and inviting the US ambassador to visit the capital Aden.

The US ambassador congratulated President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, on the signing of the Riyadh agreement, describing the next phase as positive, and stressing on the US support for the agreement, which was signed under the patronage of Saudi Arabia.

The US Ambassador stressed on the pivotal role of the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia in supporting the stability in our country, pointing out to the importance of focusing on institutional structuring and strengthening the security system to prevent terrorism to return and spread.

The US Ambassador also stressed on the United States attention in all relevant files to security, and protection of shipping lines, and combating terrorism.

The US ambassador expressed his happiness for  this meeting with the President Al-Zubaidi, appreciating the position of the Southern Transitional Council, and its support for peace, including the continuous coordination with the countries of the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia.
