President Al-Zubaidi meets with the UK Ambassador to Yemen

The President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, met on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Yemen Michael Aron.

The meeting discussed prospects of coordination and cooperation between Britain and the Southern Transitional Council in various fields including security, development, humanitarian file, and the national economy.

President Al-Zubaidi stressed on the importance of the British role in our country through the efforts of the United Kingdom in peace process in the region in general and in our country in particular, assuring the position of the Transitional Council in supporting the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia.

President Al-Zubaidi stressed on the Transitional Council's intention to actively participate in the peace process, in order to ensure the achievement of the national goal of the people of the South, and praised the efforts of British friends in various fields, especially in development, humanitarian, and political, appreciating the UK's keenness to establish security and peace in the region.

For his part the British Ambassador expressed his delight at the meeting and appreciation for the position of the Southern Transitional Council and its peaceful steps and readiness to participate positively in the political process.

The British Ambassador affirmed his country's support for Riyadh agreement, which was sponsored by Saudi Arabia, describing it as a basic building block on the road to finding a lasting solution through a comprehensive political settlement.
