The STC Member Murad Al-Halimi Meets British Foreign Office Officials in London



  A meeting was held yesterday at the British Foreign Office in London congregating member of the presidency of the Transitional Council and former minister of transport, Murad Al-Halimi and head of Yemen office in the British Foreign Office, Mr. Chris Halliday with the participation of a representative of Yemen's stability group in the British Foreign Office, Mr. Martin Gareth.

  Their discussion touched on the importance of the upcoming visit of the crown prince of Saudi Arabia prince Mohammed bin Salman to London to held talks on files of utmost importance over the South within the situation in Yemen in general.

  During the meeting with Al-Halimi, the officials of the UK Foreign Office expressed Britain's interest in the situation in the south and that the that the southern cause is within the agenda of the new UN envoy to the United Nations adding that the UK Foreign Office pays great attention to this cause which must take its place.

  Mr. Chris Halliday said that his country watches cautiously the situation in the south and the latest incidents between the Southern Transitional Council and the Government, adding that the United Kingdom is for strengthening the relationship between the Transitional Council and President Hadi and that Britain's policy supports coalition efforts to restore legitimacy and
rapprochement.

  The meeting also touched on the British efforts in the Quartet Committee which aim to ensure the success of the tasks of the special envoy to Yemen.
They confirmed that the British side follows closely the South and that the British Foreign minister is particularly interested in the southern cause because of Britain's historic presence in the south, making it clear that the British diplomacy supports Yemeni unity and does not support secession, but at the same time, with solving the issue through administrative independence, and not creating new centers of conflict.

  For his part. Murad Al-Halimi that the Southern Transitional Council appreciate the efforts of Britain with all the parties, adding that the council is a result of authentic southern movement formed through a process of struggle for the South and reflects the largest polarized political movement in the south and it is combines in its composition and in its organizational structure all the governorates of the south, it is not contrived, as publicize by the 94 Summer War Coalition.
