Shatara at the ECFR Desk : The Transitional Council is the Choice of the Southern People

Member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council and Head of the Information Department Lutfi Shatara said that the Transitional Council represents the will of a people eager to restore their state after two decades of struggle, marked by two wars in 1994 and 2015.

Shatara added that during those two wars against the South, the ruling powers of the North tried at that time to break the will and bury the cause of the Southern people, but they came out victorious to say it loud, in one voice, that the people of the South will not deviate from the goal they have fought for over twenty years.

At a round table meeting organized by the European Council on Foreign Relations in the British capital London, with the participation of a number of European politicians and journalists, the head of the STC Foreign Relations Department, Dr. Eidros Al-Naqib and its advisor lawyer Mohammed Alsahmi, Shatara reviewed the steps taken by the Southern Transition Council since Aden's Historic Announcement, where the Southerners  streamed to the streets in the One Million Rally of the 4th of May 2017 to delegate Major General Aidroos Al Zubaidi, to form a unified Southern leadership , to achieve their political aspirations.

Shatara indicated that for the first time in the history of the Southern political action, a unified leadership is formed to represent   all the Southern governorates, making it clear that the Southern Transitional Council's doors are wide open to all the people of the South to participate in making the future through the  National Assembly and the Decision-Making Support Center. He also pointed out that the Council is about to shape up a committee of advisors consisting of 230 members who will be  southern people of the best qualified national cadres in all fields.

Shatara also said that the Council is open to all the nations of the world that respect the will of the people of the South and their right to choose their future, adding that the Council had explicitly declared in all its political aspects that it's part of the real partnership with the coalition countries in establishing international security and stability, combating terrorism and achieving common interests with all parties that respect and recognize the right of the southerners to build their political future on the land of their southern state of the pre-21 May 1990 borders.
