Al Awlaqi : The STC Has Its Political Agenda

Member of the presidium of the Southern Transitional Council and the official spokesman Salem Al Awlaqi in an interview with ‘Al Arab Alyoum’, said, “We’re not aiming for secession according to your query, our issue is a case of independence not secession”. Adding, “It does not depend on forms of quotas in power holding positions in the state. It is a southern national project with its political, social cultural futuristic aims and goals. Our people have died, martyred, struggled and fought for it not to change faces. What happened in 1994 was a robbery of a homeland and there is no way that you can,’ Connect the corpse of unity with a respirator’.

Al Awlaqi added that the war didn’t end yet and that the interfering of the Yemeni system is still taking advantage of the fragile current situation which is searching for the easiest way to mix the papers and deteriorate the situation as well as to form a certain concept, ‘The south is a haven for terrorism’ . This reminds us of the assassinations which happened in the early nineties which targeted the southerners in particular or the assassinations from the period of 2010-2014 the perpetuators were  those who don’t want the south to be secure nor independent , assassinations are not a new tool which they use but its intension  is known .

He pointed, detaining some leaders of the Islah ‘Yemen Brotherhood’, is only a security procedure that Aden security forces had to do in connection with terrorism, the Islah party can only prove their innocence by presenting evidence, they have to realize that the security forces follow the instructions from the ministry of interior and is not a department of the STC.

Assuring that the UEA does not directly sponsor the STC but we value their role in supporting the south in the war and in the humanitarian relief in restoring  hope ,he also hoped that the STC receives support from the UAE, the KSA , the region and the international community in understanding the ground facts, and to consider that the war is against terrorism and the Iranian  expansion in the region  adding that politics usually adopt positions and partnerships based on mutual interests and goals.
Al Awlaqi stressed that the STC adopts political and peaceful practices and does not rely on force of weapons or chaos, the STC understands what the adverse forces aim to do against the will of the southern people, therefore there are many ways to manage this file responsibly without the need to be dragged into the square of force and mayhem, which is what they wish for.
He concluded by saying,’ The Southern Transitional Council is moving methodologically towards achieving the requirement of the independence and building a state, including reclaiming the southern file and inserting it in its suitable position’. He pointed to the practices of counterfeiting of facts in earlier stages and said that we greatly believe that we will overcome those dark stages in no time. Now all sides realize that the STC is part of the solution and not of the problem it has its political target which is combating terrorism. These are the platforms of the people of south who are eager to live in peace and harmony with the world which surrounds them.
